Let me just say, i {heart} my job. Becoming a 'photographer' has been so fulfilling! I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people the last couple of years and feel privileged to be a small part of capturing what they love...all the while doing what I love. It's awesome.
Case and point: The Hancocks. Perfect evening, hanging out on the docs, snapping pics of a cute little family and literally soaking up the rays and their happiness. My kind of night.
Miss Katie is a photographer herself, so I was very flattered (albeit a bit intimidated!) when she asked me to do a session with her family. Thank you, Hancock family, for having me! It was a pleasure to meet you.

Daley.
May I introduce the Daley family, please? Don't mind if I do. Because they are awesome.
And I'm so happy to know them! Not only am I lucky enough to call these cool cats my neighbors, but also my friends. Lesley (Mama Daley) has quickly become one of my favorite people on the planet and I thoroughly enjoy spending time with her. She's funny, kind, real, genuine and always seems to know the right thing to say. I just adore her.
So happy to do this session with you, Daley family. You rock!
*Incidentially, the field we took these pictures in was damaged in the 'Dump Fire' that wreeked havoc in our city over the weekend. What an ordeal! Both Lesley's family and my family were evacuated for the fire, but we were both blessed to have no damage to our homes or the neighborhood (even though the fire came within 50 yards of several homes). Bleh. Here is a picture of the fire that I took from my backyard:
And also one Lesley snapped from her front yard:
Thankfully the fire is currently about 50% contained. I am in awe of the amazing firefighters that have worked tirelessly, around the clock, to ensure our safety. So incredible!
ps- my Spell Check feature is not working. I apologize in advance for what I am sure are many spelling errors. xoxo

Maria + Max.
Toes in the sand. Walking on the beach. An absolutely beautiful evening. It just doesn't get much better than that!
