Montana Bound

As a wife/mom/photographer/chauffeur/cook/housekeeper/referee/etc., I wear many hats. As so many of you do too! Managing my business is lots of work and sometimes things go by the way side,  such as blog posts! They are just not always the number one priority on my "To Do" list. However, I am trying to work on this and be more consistent with my posting. This summer has helped, especially with a little more free time on my hands. Thankfully, I've been giving my blog here some much needed attention and TLC. Even though it's not #TBT, I'm posting a throwback that never hit the blog.  Is that breaking the rules?  Are there rules?  I'm not sure, but since it is in fact Wednesday, I'm going to introduce my very first #WCW.  That ought to be okay.

What is a #WCW you might ask? Well, according to my teenage daughter a #WCW stands for "Woman Crush Wednesday". I'm not sure if I should feel cool or really embarrassed for knowing that information. Regardless, I totally have a girl crush on this here pretty lady.  My sister!

Last year Cass and Jonathan moved out of state for Law School (that brother in law of mine is a smarty pants).  Before they left Utah, we were able to do this fun, love-filled session.  We chose Murray Park as our location, a place that was close to their home and a perfect fit with their personalities.  Jonathan and Cassie are the cutest, sweetest couple.  I'm so glad they found one another!  As the big sister, I couldn't have asked for a better man for my beautiful sister.  They will be celebrating four years of marriage this fall and are expecting their first baby.  Woo-hoo!  I am so excited.  They will be the best little parents and I could not be happier for them.

I love you both so much, Cass and Jonathan, and I miss you like crazy!  Can't wait to see you again.

"I'll eat you up I love you so." -Where the Wild Things Are

This boy. THIS BOY! Oh, he is a special one I tell you. Truly a little angel sent straight from heaven. Remember the very first Birth Story I photographed and shared here?  Well that beautiful baby has gone and grown up in to a darling little boy.  This session was actually done last fall and I'm finally now getting around to sharing it.  Because, really, how could I not share all this cuteness?  I mean those two little teeth?!?  And that curly hair?  Don't even get me started on those big, beautiful eyes.  He is beyond adorable.  Yes, I am fully aware that I am quite the doting Aunt.  If you were his Aunt, you would be too.

Little Linc has literally been a ray of sunshine in our lives. He has brought such joy and happiness to everyone around him.  Our whole family is just smitten with him, plain and simple.  My sister even gave him his very own hashtag on Instagram.   #bestthingthatcamefrom2012.  Which is so true.

I sure love you, Mister Linc!  Thanks for always making me smile.

Beautiful Rainy Evening Session. Utah Family Photographer.

So happy I had the chance to work with the sweet and gorgeous Peck family. I met them through the "Go Team Riley, Tackling Cancer" 5k Run. Riley is my husband's cousin's son.  His is an incredible young man, brother, son, athlete, Eagle Scout, future college football star and he also happens to be battling bone cancer.  You can read more about Riley and his amazing journey here.  I'd love for you to "like" their page and show their family some love!  They are incredible.

Back to the Peck family.  Mother Nature did her best to keep us from doing our session. As the time to meet approached it got darker and darker. Those storm clouds were rolling in! The wind picked up and it even started to rain a bit.  Boo!  Being a Mom myself I always feel so bad for my clients when the weather doesn't cooperate.  I know how much effort goes in to getting yourself and your family ready for pictures.  The Pecks were troopers though and decided they still wanted to give the session a try, in spite of the crazy weather.  As we were driving to our location I noticed this beautiful field just off of the road.  I knew we were losing light and it could start pouring any minute so I quickly pulled over.  Wow, can I just say that I am so happy we did!  We were able to work fast and get lots of great images before the rain really started coming down.  You could say we showed the weather who was BOSS.

Thanks, Peck Family!  You were so great to work with and little Cam is a doll.  I'm looking forward to our next sunny session!
