welcome, little one.

This post has been (literally) many, many months in the making. I have been editing this session a little at a time, for a very long time. As it was a personal project for me, it seemed to always get put on the back burner behind my "business" sessions. Each time I sat down to work on these precious images I was literally brought to tears.  I loved this day.  Loved it.  I'm so thankful I was able to be a part of this special moment.  I'm so happy to finally have these beautiful images finished and ready to share with my sweet sister in law and brother...and all of you.

This is the first Birth Story I have ever done. To say that I felt honored to capture such a tender event is a major understatement.  Being in the room when this sweet baby boy entered the world will always be remembered as a truly precious moment in my life.  Having four wonderful children of my own, I know first hand what a tender, sweet, emotional experience it is to bring a baby in to this world.  Being at this birth and being able to view it from a third party vantage, so to speak, was an entirely different experience for me.  Maybe because it wasn't my own baby or maybe because I wasn't the one doing all the labor, but either way I was given a new perspective in to the birthing process.  It was beyond beautiful.

I told my sister in law later that it was easily one of the most special and sacred moments of my life.  Being in that room I could literally feel the presence of those Heavenly beings which were there to escort my nephew from one side of the Veil to the next.  The Spirit was so strong.  I could easily imagine that Grandpa was there, holding little Linc's hand, helping his namesake from one life to the next.  I will be forever grateful that I was able to be a part of such a special, beautiful day.

And so, may I introduce my sweet little Nephew.  Who incidentally has had a piece of my heart from the moment he made his grand appearance in to this world.

  1. That boy... couldn't adore him more. Beautiful pictures, although any shot where Steph looked in pain made me a bit nauseous knowing what is ahead of me! Worth the wait to see this session.

  2. Beautiful. Those shots are just amazing. I'd also like to know how Steph looked so beautiful after giving birth. I'm pretty sure I looked like I'd just crawled through a pit of sweat and under-eye circles.
